| Step 2 | Follow these instructions to install TCP/IP on your host PC. (If not already installed) |
| Step 3 | Install the EZ-Suite applications on the PC that will act as the host server to your Antares direct TCP/IP devices. |
| Step 4 | Connect your Intermec or compatible access point to your LAN (RF Systems Only) |
| Step 5 | Configure your Antares driect IP devices to communicate with your selected host PC. To determine the IP Address of your host PC to be used during device configuration, start the EZ-Server application from your Start/Programs/EZ-Suite folder. Your host IP address will be displayed in the status bar section of the application window. (See your Antares user manual for information on configuring your Antares to communicate over the network.) Remember to use the IP port number that is defined in the EZ-Server setup. |
| Step 6 | Using EZ-COMMander TFTP, download the sample Antares application TCPECHO.BIN provided with EZ-Suite in the Program Files\EZ-Suite\Samples\EZ-Builder directory. Do this by adding the IP address of your now configured Antares device to the list within EZ-COMMander. After adding the IP address, use the browse button provided to select the TCPECHO.BIN file in the path described above. If you have configured correctly, the application will be downloaded to the unit and executed denoted by an audible beep and the EZ-Server demo application screen will appear on your device (Exit EZ-COMMander). |
| Step 7 | Start EZ-Server TCP/IP and refer to Setting
The Host IP Port & Enabling
the Active Interactive Interface. (Note - Set the port number of EZ-Server to the factory default of 23 if you did not change it when configuring your Antares Device. |
| Step 8 | Start the EZ-Server ActiveX VB sample provided by selecting it from within your Program Files\EZ-Suite\Samples\VB\EZ-Server ActiveX VB Sample. |
| Step 9 | Using your now configured and programmed Antares device, scan some barcodes which will be transmitted to EZ-Server and relayed to the sample VB application that has been developed using the EZ-Server ActiveX control. This application was written to simply receive the data and echo it back to the Antares device. The demo is provided to prove operability and speed. However, if you are a VB programmer, we have included the VB source code of the demo application that you may use to build upon to create a database interface application specific to your needs. This model provides a high level of flexibility to your data collection integration system. |
