Installing TCP/IP on the EZ-Server Host PC
To install the TCP/IP network protocol
- Open the Network dialog box by clicking Start, pointing to Settings, clicking Control Panel, and then double-clicking Network.
- Select your network adapter card Click Add.
- Click Protocol, and then click Add.
- Select Microsoft from the list of manufacturers then TCP/IP from the list of protocols , and then click Ok.
- If required, you will be prompted to insert your Windows 95/98 or NT CD-ROM.
After the install is complete you will be asked to reboot your computer. Once
rebooted, follow these steps to configure the IP Address and Subnet Mask parameters required to operate EZ-Server with your Intermec RF portables.
To configure the TCP/IP network protocol
- Open the Network dialog box by clicking Start, pointing to Settings, clicking Control Panel, and then double-clicking Network.
- Click on the TCP/IP in the list of protocols. If there is more than one
listed, select the one next to your network adapter card like this and click Properties.
- The properties window will display shown below. Click on the folder tab IP Address then the radio button labeled Specify an IP address.
- Using the IP Address field shown above, enter a unique dotted IP Address and Subnet Mask to assign to this EZ-Server host PC work station. If you are unsure about
these parameters, check with your network administrator. You may want to make
note of the setting you select for reference when configuring your Intermec RF
portables
- Click OK.
